The 205th Anniversary of the Independence and National Armed Forces of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

On July 5, the ISC attended the 205th anniversary of Venezuela’s independence and national armed forces day.

If the people of Venezuela and Latin America spilled sweat and blood to fight against colonialism, they are now fighting against oppression from economic imperialism. As a member of the UN Human Rights Committee, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (January 2015 to December 2016),  it was elected a member of the UN Economic and Social Council (2016-2019).

Not only is Venezuela facing the difficulty of a drop in the international price of oil, but also political difficulties due to the foreign intervention that is using domestic elements to destabilize the country. However, the government is making great efforts to guarantee social and political stability and become a rich and powerful country socially, politically, and economically so that it can protect peace in Latin America.

Henceforth, delegations from Venezuela and South Korea will have exchanges in order to explore the possibility of cooperation in building 3 million homes within 6 years. In addition, in order to protect food sovereignty, Venezuela is planning on promoting technology exchange and investment projects in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and other sectors. The ceremony also praised former President Hugo Chavez for tirelessly fighting for Latin American integration and for peace and world balance through his promotion of multilateral bodies such as PetroCaribe, CELAC, ALBA , and UNASUR. Venezuela finally achieved a peace treaty (which Chavez promoted but had not achieved) with Colombia which it had been in conflict with for the past 50 years.
